NuMat seeks to hire PhD level chemists or material scientists who are interested in product development (from
conception to prototype to commercialization); passionate about entrepreneurship and ownership (both individual
projects and company values); and who are focused on individual and company growth (individuals attracted to

Responsibilities
Material development – Lead the design, synthesis, characterization, evaluation of novel MOFs for targeted applications
Product development – Integrate new materials into proof-of-concept systems and prototypes
Business development – Support the identification of new product and market opportunities
IP development – Transition bench-top discoveries to valuable intellectual property
Funding development – Involvement in proposal writing with government and/or industry partner funding sources
Individual Characteristics
A. Education
PhD in chemistry or materials science required
B. Experience
2-3 years R&D experience either post-doc or industry – emphasis on industry experience
Strong coordination chemistry, organometallic, or synthetic organic experience
Experience in product development – preferred but not required
Familiarity with porous material and gas storage/separation characteristics – preferred but not required
